In March 2010, Mohammed Umar saw an opportunity he knew should not be overlooked. A modest take away restaurant located in the busy part of Leicester offered a chance to develop an idea he’d had for some time – Chinese food with an Indian twist, based on a Quick Service model. He acquired the business and set about developing the Oodles concept.
Of Indian decent but with a love of Chinese food developed from extensive travels across Asia, Mohammed devised a unique convenience dining experience. The focal point was a range of dishes using fresh ingredients cooked in an open kitchen on view to the customer. Plus, a range of flavor packed sauces and marinades created by Mohammed and his brother, Ismail.
It worked! The new Oodles restaurant flourished to become a ‘go to’ dining destination. A second restaurant opened in 2014, just 2 miles away in Leicester city centre.
The demand for quality ethnic food is universal and expanding. Which is why we know this success can be repeated in all major towns and cities. So, Oodles is now set to grow, with ambitious plans to quickly develop a chain of franchised restaurants in the UK and internationally.
